The M12 has a variety of cleaning modes for vacuuming and mopping. The Dreame X40 Ultra is the latest top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop from Dreame, and it offers several features that the company's more expensive models don't have. It is a powerful suction and mop floors with ease. It is equipped with advanced features, including an auto-extending mop heads and self-detangling brush rollers. The X40 Ultra also offers automatic self-cleaning of its base station and dust collection filter. The mop pads will be automatically drained and cleaned with hot water. After every cleaning session, the water tank will be emptied automatically.
It has some advanced options to customize the cleaning schedule, for example, selecting a time to start and finish each cycle, or deciding if it should vacuum carpets prior to mopping. It can also be instructed to re-clean areas which are particularly dirty and then increase the suction power around litter boxes for cats and pet food bowls. The X40 Ultra can be programmed to perform specific tasks on demand like cleaning the kitchen sink or bathroom toilet. It can be programmed to automatically lift the front side of the brush when it detects wet areas, and clean up debris around corners and baseboards.
The X40 Ultra has a simple intuitive application that comes with various features. It is easy to use and set up. It is quieter than many corded vacuums. The only sounds are occasional low hums from its motor, and brief moments of sucking when cleaning. Its navigation system is awe-inspiring and utilizes an image camera, 3D structured light and multiple lasers to detect and avoid obstacles. this makes the X40 Ultra achieve one of the highest scores for obstacles in our tests.
5. Eufy S1 Pro
The Eufy S1 Pro has been created to be a powerful vacuum and mop combo that is also user-friendly. The gunmetal base station fills up its own tank of clean water, then empty the dust bin into a smaller bin and washes and drys its own mop pads in between cleaning sessions. It is equipped with advanced features that allow it to switch between carpets and hard surfaces, and remove pet hair from carpets and clean thresholds for rooms that are raised.
The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping capabilities, due to the internal dToF system. It is able to maintain a low-profile while still providing excellent object detection. It can drive close to walls and avoid steps without falling. It also raises the mop when driving on short-pile carpets. It struggled a bit when it came across carpets with longer piles and also some long, thick piles of dried-on debris.
Like most robots, the S1 Pro comes ready to come out of the box, and requires only a quick initial mapping run to get it used to your home. The map will then be displayed in the app and you can add or merge rooms as you need to. You can set virtual boundaries, as well as no-go or no-mop zones if there's something you don't want the robot to be able to touch.
The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up messes from hard floors due to its rotating mop head that puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to mop and vacuum is a great option for homes with floors of both types however, its reliance on a Eufy-branded cleaning solution (which is included in the box) could make it less flexible than some other robots that let you make your own cleaning solutions.
